A nanotechnology-related market is already arising in some fields and is expected to expand in the next few years.
The National Science Foundation (NSF) of the U.S. estimates the total market in the next 10 to 15 years will be worth USD 700 to 800 billion. Hitachi Research Institute estimates that even the Japanese market will grow up to JPY 2,400 billion (USD 22 billion) by 2005, and JPY 27 trillion (USD 250 billion) by 2010.
